For many years, nail trends and styles have changed and evolved. No matter what new ways came, one style remained a favourite in the fashion circuit of nails- the French manicure.
It was originally done for women, but over time, this became popular with men also.
They are the ones who are conscious about their looks and want to appear clean, as well as presentable. You have to admit, clean nails are always attractive to look at, regardless of the gender.
Different styles for you
Nowadays, there are many salons that offer men’s French manicures. If you would like to have your nails done, then try checking the local shops, to see if they cater to this kind of nail service. There are different styles of French manicures that men can get. Depending on their style of preference and personal character, the designs will definitely vary. French manicures that made for conservative types of men are available and there are also other kinds that represent a more- outgoing personality of men.
No matter the occasion or purpose, a French manicure for men will always look good. You may want to have clean looking nails for work or maybe you have a dance recital to attend to. First dates and also weddings come into the picture, when men get this type of manicure. There are different designs and art you may choose from and if wanted, glitter, gemstones, and sequins may even be added for more flare. Don’t think that French manicures mean you are gay. Who cares about what others say? As long as it serves the ultimate purpose, of creating clean and nice- looking nails, than it is not a problem.
Gaining popularity
This type of manicure is gaining more popularity than ever among men, but it actually dates back to the 18th century. French royalty had their nails done and groomed during this time and that is why it is called ‘French manicure.’ Back then, the purpose of a man’s manicure was to make his hands look elegant and soft. Rough hands that had ragged nails meant that you were in a lower class.
Ever since then, men’s manicures evolved. It was first done with sheer polish and French treatments for nails. Now, men wear colour on their nails such as the shade of black, red, blue, and brown. Most of the Goth and ‘punks’ men -were the ones who got these done to their nails and others caught on.
Male celebrities started getting their manicures and it represented wealth in the 20th century. Men’s French manicure dwells on the sheer polish rather then the white- tip nails that are common with women. If you do want this type of manicure, then you may opt to have a thick- white crayon rubbed under your nail beds. This is specially made for nails, so don’t try using regular crayons. Your nails will look whiter, healthier, and stronger when you have this done.
Remember that although men’s manicure is popular among the gay community, it does not mean that straight men cannot get their nails done. If you have a special event coming up, then go ahead and get it done. Nice looking nails are always in style and they make you look attractive, as well as special. There are even companies nowadays that offer butlers and limo drivers, who require men they employ to get French manicures.

Why not show and explain current trends in men’s nail lengths, shapes and polishes? What are the favorites, what are the trends, etc.
