Well, this is a beauty treatment applied to the hands, especially the fingernails. Some of the things that are involved in manicuring are shaping of the nails and application of nail polish. These are mainly done to make the finger nails look good.
From the above description, you can think that there is a certain category of people who have been ruled out: the male folk. It has been believed that manicures are only for ladies and not for men. This is because ladies have been known to worry about small beauty issues such as having beautiful and pleasant nails.
But as the world is changing, male manicuring is beginning to get recognition. Unfortunately, or fortunately, male manicuring has been associated with the gay, but in recent times, even the straight men have started manicuring their nails. It may sound as a shocker but it is true.
Why would a man want to manicure his nails?
Well, for those men who would want to keep have proper hygiene, manicuring of the nails would be good. Since men are always using their hands in one way or the other, the hands are exposed to dirt and germs may enter the fingernails. Having your fingernails manicured on a weekly or bi-weekly basis (for a start) would be something good to try out.
Another reason (may be not a main reason) for men doing a manicure is to attract the ladies. In this day and age, ladies are looking for men who know how to keep themselves hygienically clean. Having well kept nails that are well trimmed and polished can attract ladies to men. Ladies will get the hint that the man in question is a clean person. One of the things that really irritate ladies is when their men bite their fingernails.
This is why men are encouraged to go for male manicuring.
